Word - why do all my pictures try to open in word?

Asked By bpalme on 20-Feb-07 01:32 AM
When I scan a picture and then try to open it, even though it says its a jpeg
file, it tries to open in Word. It has not always done this, how do I change
it back?

JPEG obviously has an incorrect file association in Windows.

Open Windows Explorer and find (any) jpeg file and select it.
Shift+Right-click and select Open With. From the Open With dialog, check the
box at the bottom 'Always open this type of file with' and then select the
default graphics editor you are using or the windows picture and fax viewer,
whichever is your preference.
