Word - A strange error - Shouldn't it occur only while saving ?

Hi,

I use Microsoft Office Word 2007 on Vista.

When i try to open a document i get the below
error -
of pages supported by Microsoft Office Word"

I wonder how can that document got saved if
it is more than the maximum number of pages
supporte by Microsoft Office Word.

If i exceed the number of pages while creating
the document, the error message appears valid.
But, how does it appear while opening a
document ?
A strange error - Shouldn't the error message
occur only while saving ? Any ideas ?

Thx in advans,
Karthik Balaguru

Hi karthikbalaguru,

It seems your document has become corrupted. I trust you have a backup somewhere.

The message is actually possible if the document was created using some
different tool than Word to start with. For example, it could be created
with Open Office Writer. And while the document might be valid according to
the specification, it could be that Word just cannot handle it.

I believe Macropod is correct though and the document is most likely
corrupted as it would have to be enormous to make Word display that error.

Trying to number two sections two different ways Word I am trying to make a document in Word 2010. I know there are separate Technet non NNTP forums for the 2010 Beta, but this is not really a question that has anything to do with the new 2010. 2007 and 2010 are practically the same for the purposes of this question, unless they have that have the familiarity with page numbering that there is here. So. . . . (Pretend it is Word 2007) if you can help me. Oh yeah, and on Win 7 but I doubt that know there is an easy way, but all the descriptions and help on MSFT's Office site for Word are geared to Word 2007 and while what I want to do may be the same in Word 2007
copy and paste text crashes word Word If I copy text from Textedit or a pdf (using Preview) and then paste that text into Word it will crash. Once that happens I have to log out of OSX and come back before Word will run without crashing (it will open and as soon as I enter a keystroke or select a menu it crashes). Copy and pasting from within word is fine. Running the latest version of Office 2008. Any thoughts?
