Peter--I will suggest this, but most people can open attachments directly. Does
new Word have a glitch about .doc docs?
Graham Mayor replied to folchal
It is not good practice to do so (though Office 2007 attemps to overcome
most of the problems). The issue here concerns the file associations. Set
the file associations for doc/rtf to Word 2007 - See

Reinstalling earlier version of Office Word I now have Office 2007 Ultimate installed on my new Windows 7 laptop. Most of its components are OK but I am having troubles with Word 2007 and want to revert to Word 2002 from my Office XP suite. I therefore want to install Word 2002 on this same W7 laptop but
multilevel lists Word I am writing an engineering report using multilevel lists. Every 4th or 5th page, Word places a large blank space on the page after I press Enter. The new list existing page. Sometimes only 3 or 4 lines of text are on the page when Word inserts the blank space and starts a new page. I displayed formatting marks and there next page and press Enter, 3 or 4 sections later (3.2.5 for example), Word fills the blank section on the previous page with text and the document looks normal up numbering and if I have to insert a sub-section (3.2.5.1), Word adds another 1 / 2 page blank space. To make the 44 page document look somewhat unsuccessfully to "select" the blank section, it is not a hidden table. Can anyone help? Word 2007 - Spellchecker stopped working - tried every which way to fix Word Hi, I run an XP machine with Office 2007 (student). Out of the blue, spell checker no longer working. Just says 'complete' and that back to 'complete.' A Google search throws up registry fixes, but with different lines, for Word 2007. When I open an older Word 2007 doc, containing exactly UK settings, spellchecker opens. These same settings appear in normal.dot
