Word - Manual page break not displayed

Hello,

usually a manual page break is displayed in the draft mode at a line, where
it had been inserted.
Usually... Recently I inserted manual page breaks into a document, but they
were not indicated in the draft mode. The page break could only be
recognized by the page number in the status bar after stepping to the line,
where a new page begins.

What may be the reason, when the manual page break was not displayed in the
draft mode?
How can this problem be resolved, i. e. how can be achieved, that a page
break, inserted manually, is displayed?

Currently I work with Word 2007.

Manual page breaks are displayed in Word 2007 only when you have nonprinting
characters (formatting marks) displayed. Click on the pilcrow (?) button in
the Paragraph group on the Home tab.

Even if you have been accustomed to working in Normal view in earlier
versions of Word, you may find it more satisfactory to use Print Layout
rather than Draft view in Word 2007. Draft view is even less WYSIWYG than it
was before, and there is no longer usually any performance enhancement
benefit to be gained by using it. If you just want an uninterrupted view of
your text, double-click in the area between pages to hide the "white space
between pages," and you will get the best of both worlds--a fully WYSIWYG
view with page breaks indicated by a heavy line and full access to
headers/footers just by double-clicking the line between pages to restore
the "white space."
