If you open the PDF document in Acrobat Reader, you should be able to save
the document as a text file (.txt) via File > Save as Text. You can then open
the text file in Word.

You may need to change the formatting of the text in Word afterwards. For
example, all lines will have a paragraphs mark at the end. To clean up the
text, you may use some of the tips found in this article:
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/CleanWebText.htm

Note that if you have Adobe Acrobat Standard or Adobe Acrobat Professional,
you can save a PDF file in Word format (.doc) via File > Save as (select
“Microsoft Word Document (.doc)” in the “Save as type” field). Such documents
will preserve most of the formatting plus pictures and other objects. A .txt
file will only contain unformatted text.

copy and paste text crashes word Word If I copy text from Textedit or a pdf (using Preview) and then paste that text into Word it will crash. Once that happens I have to log out of OSX and come back before Word will run without crashing (it will open and as soon as I enter a keystroke or select a menu it crashes). Copy and pasting from within word is fine. Running the latest version of Office 2008. Any thoughts?
