Open the query in Access and then use the Merge it with Microsoft Word
facility available by going to the Tools menu in Access and then selecting
Office Links and then Merge it with Microsoft Word.

This did not work. When it asked for the Word document, it then went back to
Access and displayed the two tables but no querries.

By the way, the last time I did this (a couple of years ago), I changed some
Preferences or something in Word so as to choose something other than OLE
db, I think.

Did you have the Query open with the results of it displayed in Access when
you accessed the Tools menu>Office Links>Merge it with Microsoft Word? Does
your query produce any results?
The option that you may have changed before was either under
Tools>Options>General in versions before 2007 and check the box for Confirm
Conversion on Open (or something like that. In Word 2007, you need to click
on the Office button and then on Word Options and then on Advanced and
scroll down to the General section and check the box for Confirm File Format
Conversion on Open.

Do what Doug says re. confirm conversions, then select the DDE option
when it is offered.

copy and paste text crashes word Word If I copy text from Textedit or a pdf (using Preview) and then paste that text into Word it will crash. Once that happens I have to log out of OSX and come back before Word will run without crashing (it will open and as soon as I enter a keystroke or select a menu it crashes). Copy and pasting from within word is fine. Running the latest version of Office 2008. Any thoughts? Trying to number two sections two different ways Word I am trying to make a document in Word 2010. I know there are separate Technet non NNTP forums for the 2010 Beta, but this is not really a question that has anything to do with the new 2010. 2007 and 2010 are practically the same for the purposes of this question, unless they have that have the familiarity with page numbering that there is here. So. . . . (Pretend it is Word 2007) if you can help me. Oh yeah, and on Win 7 but I doubt that know there is an easy way, but all the descriptions and help on MSFT's Office site for Word are geared to Word 2007 and while what I want to do may be the same in Word 2007
Word07 Outline won't properly number Word This is the fourth time I have tried to ask this question in 'word.general.questions' but it never make it to the list. I am not sure if the most basic outline. I should point out that if one uses the "help" of Word 07, and ask how to create an multilevel outline, I am forwarded to how to search around further, I am forwarded to websites that explain outlines for earlier versions of Word (where the link between levels was clearer). So here is the problem more simply: Suppose the bottom of any page. I type something in the blank codument and assume that Word 07 will believe I am at 'Level I.' It is unclear because, of course, I the headings are broken, why is it so hard to find any information on the Microsoft websites to fix this? Again, I have followed other information that the Microsoft website has provided since I simply want to begin with the "format" of each level I would love to have a straightforward way to explain how to create outlines in Word for college level students. At this point, I am sure they are ready to jump
Chinese characters Word Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Power PC I have always been able to use Chinese characters in the English version of Word 2004 (Mac) and Word 2003, 2007 (Windows). Now with Word 2008, no-go. I can type fresh characters fine, but if If I paste in characters, it shows those ugly repeating rectangles only. The suggestion of using the "Microsoft Language Register" to set it to Japanese also does not help. Just an aside, there is no "Microsoft Language Register" for any of these other versions of Word.
