I am new to Word(previously used Word Perfect). WP had a feature called
in the command reduce to 2 pages. It would automatically change the type
size and/or margins as needed so that you now had a 2 page document ready to
print. Does Word have an equivalent feature? Thanks for any help.

One of the easiest way to do this which works sometimes is to select
the........ Office Button > Page Preview > then there should be a button on
the ribbon that says, "Shrink to One Page," thus it should try to shrink it
down by changing text size etc.

Hope this helps

Word Trying to number two sections two different ways I am trying to make a document in Word 2010. I know there are separate Technet non NNTP forums for the 2010 Beta, but that have the familiarity with page numbering that there is here. So. . . . (Pretend it is Word 2007) if you can help me. Oh yeah, and on Win 7 but I doubt know there is an easy way, but all the descriptions and help on MSFT's Office site for Word are geared to Word 2007 and while what I want to do may be the same in Word 2007 and Word 2010, I cannot get it done and it is holding up my doc. I would
Word Word 2007 buggy and crashes. New Dell machine running Vista Ultimate 64bit. Office Enterprise 2007. All updates done. Unable to select text in any Word 2007 document. Word 2007 also crashes when closing it. Neither of these problems occur in other components of Office Enterprise 2007. For example in Outlook text can be selected / copy / paste and other mouse functions work. I have tried every MS resource. Also run Office Diagnostics which finds no problems. Have also run Repair from Office 2007 CD. No solution so far. Thousands of dollars in new hardware and software and
Word Word 2007 produces very large Word 2003 compatible files When I save a file in the docx format in my normal in the doc format it is 220k. (If I then open the doc file with Word 2003 on a different computer and save it, it grows again by a factor of file then it grows to 75k and the file size is stable when opened by Word 2003. Similarly, if I import the docx file into Word 2003 and save it as a doc file, the size is 75k. I have reloaded Office and run the Office Repair. I have also run the Word diagnostic Programme - which says everything is fine. I
Word Word07 Outline won't properly number This is the fourth time I have tried to ask this question in 'word.general.questions' but it never make it to the list. I am not sure if the most basic outline. I should point out that if one uses the "help" of Word 07, and ask how to create an multilevel outline, I am forwarded to how to search around further, I am forwarded to websites that explain outlines for earlier versions of Word (where the link between levels was clearer). So here is the problem more simply: Suppose the bottom of any page. I type something in the blank codument and assume that Word 07 will believe I am at 'Level I.' It is unclear because, of course, I I would love to have a straightforward way to explain how to create outlines in Word for college level students. At this point, I am sure they are ready to jump are very useful for writing documents, but I can not longer produce them in MS-Word 2007. G. I have seen at least one previous post from you with identical content posted if you post in the Numbering newsgroup, which has much lower traffic. - - Suzanne S. Word Word Freezes Trying to Open Documents & Says "Running virus scan. . All of a sudden, my company is having a very strange problem with Microsoft Word that prevents us from accessing most of our Word documents. As we have many important documents in Word, this is a critical issue for us. The problem is that when users try to open certain files, Word freezes with the message "Running virus scan. . ." in the status bar. The user must use or click the "X" to close the window and choose "End Now" to eventually exit Word. The problem began with one user on 12 / 11 / 07, but since then several other Windows Server 2003 file server. All workstations are Windows XP SP2, and all are using Office 2003 SP3. All machines have most of the latest updates, etc. Some other facts: - We
